Document services and the management of records inventory is an ever growing business and new records services and records inventory techniques are developing all the time. Traditional records management techniques are still valid today and still the core value of any records management company. Archive America’s records services really start with getting the basics right. Tight standard operating procedures, where bar-coded boxes are scanned at customers site and taken by our own fleet of drivers to our secure facilities, scanned many times before they reach the shelves and accurately indexed to our customers requirements and satisfaction are the bedrock of any good professional records inventory management company. To be able to move forward and provide the additional records services you must have the basic procedures, checks and balances in place. Archive America’s ability to do this has resulted in the development of other more customer specific services and packages, after all without the basics what have you got? One innovation in the records services field was the development and writing of our own specific records management software. This client side application came about as the result of discussions with several clients who wanted more records management control, but without the expenditure and the over the top features of many Records management programs on the market, in addition to this, they wanted access to the wide body of information that we already store for our clients and be able to edit, access and order that information as and when the needed it. A year of development later, Archive America released AAPartner, a client side application that, with the assistance of a few of our selected clients, allows greater control of clients information. From individual indexing and sophisticated searching, we have produced a real records services tool. Our clients adopted AAPartner early on and quickly found new and innovative uses that even we had not thought of. The ease of use and the control that AAPartner allows gives our clients a unique advantage in their own marketplaces, with access to detailed information, they can now truly become records managers for a fraction of the cost of other Records and information management software packages, with the added benefit of all their information being instantly available to them as AAPartner acts in synchronization with our own existing database. Archive America’s goal of empowering customers to truly become masters of their own data has come to fruition. |
